It was back to school for local Somerset County Councillor Gloria Cawood ( Lib Dem ) when she visited the
Pre-School in March 2006 to present a Councillor’s Community Grant for £400.
“It’s getting on for nearly 30 years since friends and I set up the Baby and Toddlers’ group in the Village Hall from
which the Pre-School grew,” said Councillor Cawood.
“The Pre-School is set to celebrate its 25th Birthday this year and has a very supportive management committee. One of
the assistants, Claire Green was one of the first children
to attend the Pre-School when it started!”
“Talking to the leaders, I was amazed that much of the equipment we raised money for all those years ago was still
being used by the children today. Our first major buy all those years ago was a climbing frame and slide, which is
still being used by the children.”
“I thought it was time they had help with some brand new equipment!”
