Community Group
The Community Group was set up to raise funds for the village.

All residents of the village are members of the group. There is a committee which meets once a month. Anyone from the village can join the meetings, The only elected members are the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. At present there are approximately 12 people who meet to discuss the next event.
The Events put on by the group are :
- The Annual Village Fayre held on August Bank Holiday Monday every year*
- The Halloween Childrens disco always held on 31st October each year
- Quizzes - at various times throughout the year
- Mouse Race
- Christmastime Music Night in December
- Walks in the surrounding countryside
The Community Group own 4 marquees which are used for various events throughout the year. The marquees are also for hire.
Monies raised during the events and from marquee hire is used to enhance the village. In April each year the groups and societies can ask for a grant for specific projects. i.e. funds have been used for new safety matting for the village play equipment, upkeep of the village hall, different projects on the churches, the tennis and cricket clubs. It is also used for the free Halloween childrens disco, only children from outside the village need to pay. Funds raised at the quizzes also help local charities, like the Somerset Air Ambulance.
The October French Cafe Evening was a great success and everyone who came enjoyed it immensely. The music was very French all evening and it was surprising how many french songs there were that were played by the band and known by those who attended. The food provided by Terry Denham was delicious, with frech onion soup and brie and bacon or Toulouse sausage baguettes. The light hearted quiz was won by the Dixons from Dean. Another musical evening is being planned for early 2012.
* In 2012 there will not be an Annuual Fayre on 27th August, Bank Holiday Monday. Instead an event to Celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee is being organised for Tuesday 5th June at East Somerset Railway. Regular updates in the monthly Cranmore Grapevine.
