Minutes of Meeting in the Memorial Hall, Cranmore
on 12th February 2007 at 7.30pm

The Chairman opened the meeting at 7.30pm.

Agenda item 1 - Apologies for absence

None

Agenda item 2 - Declaration of interest

Agenda Item 3 - minutes from meeting 8th January 2007

Agenda item 4 - matters arising from minutes

Stephen Zorab has spoken to the PCSO regarding coming to give a brief presentation to the parish, this hopefully will be during our April Parish Council meeting.

The invoices from Wicksteed regarding the equipment installed at Jills Close have now been received.

Paul Treby will write to Mendip regarding the application of a 6th Councillor on the Parish Council

Agenda item 5 - Open Meeting

Gloria Cawood informed the meeting of her phone conversation with V.Lake of Hastoe. Hastoe plan to put their plans for development forward in the spring, and are hoping to attend the Parish Council meeting in March to discuss the details.
Lower Crane Cottage seems to be favoured.

Building is hoped to start in the Autumn. A lengthy discussion took place and it was concluded that a letter will be drafted to Hastoe

Gloria advised the Parish Council of All Hallows School planning for a new nursery. The Council will write to All Hallows to welcome their plans.

Lynne Walker expressed concern regarding parking and turning at the centre of the village.
Jess will ask to have this included in the Grapevine Magazine.

Agenda item 6 - Planning

Mr Lee Wright of Wright associates came to the meeting to explain the details of the application.
Mr Newton and Mr Knight are 2 of the 3 proprietors of KRN.
$ of the neighbours asked for comments on the application have an interest relating to the application.

Application recommended for refusal on the following points:
· Parking issues
· Over development & inaccurate plans
· Pre existing condition constraining use.

Agenda Item 7 - Development plan

Stephen Zorab has made the amendments after the review of the Development Plan.

Agenda item 8 - Correspondence

All correspondence has been read by the Parish Council and Clerk, with no issues to discuss.

Agenda item 9 - SALC

No issues

Agenda item 10- Finance

The quote for the cutting of the grass in the Parish from Taunton Dean was viewed and accepted by the Parish Council

Agenda item 11 - Jills Close

Wicksteed have sent the correct invoices and put forward for payment.
The ground at Jills Close is still too soggy to remove the concrete pipe.
The inspection is due within the coming month.
The ownership of the gate needs to be clarified before its repair/replacement can be carried out.

Agenda item 12 - Sports Club - Tennis Club

Andrew form the Tennis Club filled the Parish Council in regarding the repairs to the fencing around the court. The two quotes for the repairs Are £700 from a fence company and £1450 from a specialist company.
Brenda Edwards suggested that the Parish Council could consider a donation for the repairs and also towards the insurance, as currently accidental damage is not included on the policy. Andrew will get quotes for this to be included.
The community Group have kindly offered £375, the Parish Council have offered the same amount of £375.
This was proposed by Paul Treby and Seconded by Richard Payne.

Agenda item 13 - Clerks Report

Matters relating to the election in May 2007

Last application date for Parish Councillor - Noon Wednesday 4th April.
Publication of nominees - Noon Tuesday 10th April.
Above dates will be placed in the Grapevine Magazine.

Agenda Item - 14 - Chairman’s urgent matters for consideration

Dog fouling has again become a problem, the matter will be mentioned in the Grapevine Magazine.
