ALLOTMENTS
Look who is coming - 'The Lawmen' an authentic show of the Old West during 1860’s including Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday
Mendip have just informed us that the appeal for the shooting range will be decided by a Public Inquiry. Noise is the issue and all those who are likely to be adversely affected by the noise if the range is built will need to consider what to do next.
The noise nuisance caused by shooting for many hours on 4 days a week throughout the year will be severe for some people in the area. It will also lower property values ( not that this is a concern of the planners ).
See the shooting page for details of the plans. The page will be updated as necessary.
You will see that the building of 8 affordable houses in the village has started. One of the agreements made with MDC is that they should be offered to local people first.
If you feel you are eligible please contact Paul Treby (Chairman Cranmore Parish Council)
A diverse group of Somerset artists, located close together amongst the Mendip quarries, have formed a cluster group to help encourage visitors to Somerset Art Weeks open studios to plan a trail around their individual studio shows.
Look out for more details in the local papers and signs at the road side
