RECYCLING UNITS AT EAST SOMERSET RAILWAY
You can use the units to recycle paper, glass bottles and plastic bottles.
There have been some problems of excess recycling material around the bins in the railway car park and the Parish Council would like to remind everyone that the East Somerset Railway allow the bins on their land as a gesture of good will. Please ensure that we do not abuse their hospitality. So please remember :-

DOGS/BONFIRES AND FIREWORKS
Could all Parishioners once again be reminded that they must clean up behind their dog if it fouls the
footpaths/roads/grass verges within the boundaries of the village. You are liable to prosecution and a mandatory fine
of up to £1,000 if your dog is caught fouling.
Just a reminder to please have consideration for your fellow neighbours if you light a bonfire or are having
a celebration involving fireworks. There are strict guidelines, available from Mendip District Council, as regards
bonfires and fireworks.

All collections are on a Friday. Put rubbish out on a Thursday evening. Most of the recyclable waste is collected
weekly. ( Bank hols - rubbish is collected on the day after a bank holiday).

Food waste - use the
SMALL BROWN
food waste bins.
Paper,
glass bottles,
metal cans and foil,
fabric .
The large
GREEN
bins for non-recyclable rubbish are now only emptied
every fortnight, also on a Friday. The dates for these bins are June 15 and 29, July 13 and 27, August 10 and 24, September 7 and 21, October 5 and 19, November 2, 16 and 30, December 14 and 30.

Garden waste is now a separate item, you will now have to compost it yourself or hire a brown bin
( or buy garden waste sacks ) which will be collected fortnightly. The dates for these

Containers used to carry materials should not be left on the ground beside the bins – Either recycle them or take them home.-
Only material stipulated on the bins should be placed in them-
No Food waste should be left in or beside the bins (Any clearing up has to be done by railway personnel – and this is not pleasant.)-
No commercial waste should be placed in the bins (Traders should use the correct methods of disposing of their waste)-
These bins have provided a valuable service to Cranmore and we should ensure that is able to continue
