Ways to get around this site.
When you start, you will arrive at the WELCOME page.
At the top of this page (and on every other page) you will see a selection of headings (like WELCOME, ABOUT, INFORMATION, etc). These are the navigation buttons that let you browse to other pages.
In Windows, you can click on any of these navigation buttons (except ABOUT), and they will take you to your chosen page. (Please see further down this page for information about Android-based systems.)
If you hover your mouse pointer over most of the navigation buttons, you will see one or more further choices. These ‘menus’ will probably be more useful in taking you to the page you want. Two of these ‘menu’ items open up ‘submenus’ (PARISH COUNCIL and CHURCHES), leading to more detailed information.
There is another way of getting around the site, and that is by way of a LINKS page. You can get to this from the WELCOME page. Look for the brown button marked LINKS PAGE.
If you click on this, it will take you to a page where you can see the name of every available page listed. When you click on it, each of these names acts as a link, taking you to the required page.
When you have clicked on one of these links, your browser will have a ‘back’ button that will enable you to get back to the LINKS page, if you want to.
If you don’t want to lose the page you’re on when you click on a link, try holding down the Ctrl key while you click on the link. You should find it opens in a new tab. Now you can switch between pages without using the ‘back’ button; and you can just close the tab when you’ve finished with it.
There are a few other pages that are not accessible from the main navigation buttons (eg CROSSWORD and POETS’ CORNER, not to mention this page of MORE INFORMATION!). You can get to these from the LINKS page, or from the NEWS & GRAPEVINE page in the section entitled ON THE WEBSITE.
The CALENDAR is a very useful part of the website. This opens up a Google Calendar. Click on any of the events in the calendar to see more details. You may even be able to open a Google map showing you where the event is taking place (although not all of these have been checked!). Use your browser’s ‘back’ button to go back to the website.
If you have been browsing the GALLERY, you may have to click on your browser’s ‘back’ button several times in order to return to the website.
Anyone confident with webpage addresses will see that each page has its own URL, and can be accessed directly by entering the correct web address.
If you have an Android device, such as a Smartphone or tablet, you get around by simply touching any of the navigation buttons or links. However, if you want to open one of the pages which has a menu or submenu (such as VILLAGE GROUPS), you may find you can do so by double-clicking on the navigation button.
